The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Club is sponsored by the Thomas and Pearl Marziani Technology fund.  In its first year, the STEM Club drew 45 students including 6th, 7th & 8th graders twice a week for variety of fun and interesting projects led by Leman Middle School teacher Nick Duda.  The group met every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00pm - 4:00pm in Mr. Duda's science class for 24 Meetings starting in November 17, 2016. Teacher Mini-Grants

The 33 Foundation are available for District 33 teachers are designed to help teachers develop and implement projects or programs that cannot otherwise be funded through the school budget. Yearly, funding is set aside for the Mini-Grant program.  In the past, we have awarded 8-12 mini-grants each year and the amounts of the awards have varied greatly (some as low as $50 and others as high as $1,000) but have averaged somewhere around $300-$500. Read Under the Trees – Summertime Reading Program

The Read Under the Trees program was initiated in 2004 and is funded by the Anne Barret Memorial fund established by her family.  The program serves to read to children during the Summer through scheduled events at community locations such as the Police Station, local parks, schools and apartment complexes.  Additionally, every child that attends the free program leaves with a book of their choosing.  The Read Under the Trees program has been a tremendous success due to the commitment of the … [Read more...]

Operation SmartBoard

  We believe the Smart Board is the single best teaching tool available to teachers and is quickly revolutionizing classrooms around the country.
